Rogermond Borja

Roger Mond b.1997 graduated from the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. His works feature the slums where he lives and the stories and situations of the people who live in it. Growing up in this community started him on a search for the root cause of the plight of the metropolis’ underprivileged.

This search drives him to create works that compel the viewer to take a second look and to question the status quo. His striking use of colors and bold lines are representative of fire and wood; two elements that delineated the lives of the impoverished from the well-off. The lurid characters and subjects in his paintings depict the vivid horrors experienced by ordinary people in the ever-widening gap between the deprived and the affluent
