Artletics troops to Mt. Makiling for its Second Season
After a three-year absence, the sports and wellness for artists is back once again. From May 8-10, 2013, more than 30 artists returned to Mt. Makiling in Los Banos Laguna to play in different sports activities and participate in various art discussions. Mt. Makiling is also the venue of the first Artletics.
Started in 2009, Artletics is a non-profit sports and wellness event that aims to promote healthy holistic living among artists. It is an event where artists can get to know each through arts discussions and physical activities.
The second Artletics is a testament to the artists’ commitment towards a healthy lifestyle. The two-day event comprised of art workshops, health seminars, and games. The major sports events are basketball, volleyball, bandminton, and ping-pong. The participants also engaged in an Amazing Race-like competition.
The sports events were held in National Arts Center and Baker Hall in University of the Philippines Los Banos.
The Artletics 2009 was sponsored by Cultural Center of the Philippines, Artcube, Forma Fuego , Med Care Plus, Philippine High School for the Arts, San Miguel Food Corp., St. Luke’s Medical Center, Don David, Sonny Go, Mylene Lising, and Dr. Alex Tan.
