The Sintomas Traveling Exhibit was launched on February 7, 2017 at the Activity center of the SM Dasmariñas Annex. The theme “Sintomas” (symptom) appealed to the artists and the viewers to become more sensitive to their environment and recognize indications of social and spiritual decay. It showcased artworks by more than fifty artists from the Cavite province.
Punk musician Bobby Balingit and the Atomic Soul livened up the opening program of the exhibit with world music. The launch was graced by the presence of the the SM City mall executives (SM Supermalls Senior Vice President for Marketing and Communications- Millie Dizon, SM City Dasmariñas Mall Manager- Editha Tayko), 2009 CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida and representatives from the local government units (Cavite Tourism Director- Liberty Herera, Dasmariñas City Councilor- Dra. Tagumpay Tapawan).
From SM Dasmarinas the works were transported to SM Trece Martires (Feb 13, 2017), SM Rosario (Feb 20, 2017), SM Bacoor (Feb 27, 2017) and lastly SM Molino (March 6, 2017).
Participating Artists
This project is part of the Paghilom Arts Festival and was done in partnership with SM My City My Art. Angelo Aguinaldo and Bani Ambion curated the Sintomas exhibit.
